Russell Westbrook was one of Los Angeles Lakers’ biggest acquisitions before the 2021-22 season began. But as the season commenced, the purple and gold started to struggle and game after game, the blame-game had Brodie on the most cussed end. With Lakers sitting in 9th seed in the West, his wife, Nina Earl (Westbrook) has revealed the horror story, the Westbrook family had been thumped with over basketball.

Not only has Russell Westbrook being a disappointment for the Lakers, but his lack of leadership and effort has left his own teammates frustrated. As a result of which die-hard Laker fans decided to send death threats to Nina Earl (Westbrook) and her husband. Given that the Laker Nation is one of the most passionate bunch of fans, it seems like Brodie has been made to realise his errors in the most brutal way, off the court.

Russell Westbrook’s wife Nina Earl (Westbrook) spoke about how ‘obscenities’ and ‘death wishes’ have been sent the way of she and her family. That is something that should never happen in the sports world, but unfortunately seems to be happening to the Westbrook family. Russell’s wife went on to speak about how she supports her husband through all the negativity he receives and that she hopes that the players who come after him don’t have to deal with what he has had to endure.

With the Lakers being 28-35 in the Western Conference, after latest win over the Golden State Warriors, it seems like the fans have taken their frustration out in the wrong way. Something which is completely not acceptable at any level.

The Lakers still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs, be it with the tough route of play-in tournament. Now, with 19 games left, they are 7 wins short of a playoff berth. But honestly, that would not be the primary goal of the purple and gold led by LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. The objective would be to find consistent results from the next game onwards.

Given the potential of Russell Westbrook, surely, he hasn’t been at his best. Yet there seems to be no valid reason for fans to send death threats to anyone in such demeaning manner. Just hope that Brodie is able to take the frustration out on the court, in the right way for purple and gold after this unacceptable incident.
