Collecting rare basketball cards surely speaks volumes about one’s passion for the NBA. Given that these cards are super expensive and are not available everywhere, handful of NBA fans are lucky enough to own them. Drake is one of those lucky fans, who indeed has not just one but multiple Michael Jordan rookie cards which could be worth $1 million or more.

Drake decided to pull out a rare 1986 Michael Jordan Fleer rookie card and several others during a live Instagram session. The hip-hop superstar who has been heavy into card collecting lately, busted open a bunch of boxes of top-of-the-line cards, including Flawless and 1986 Fleer boxes with Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions. To those who are not aware a box of Flawless goes alone for $46,000 or even more. Drake has over 10 boxes.

Those who missed the Love Instagram session, initially Goldin was opening cards while Drake sat alongside watching. Then, it was Drake’s time to take over cracking the packs. First pack comprised of a 1986 Fleer MJ rookie that could be worth well in excess of $200K! Depending on the grade, the card has sold for anywhere between mid-50K to over 700K.

Drake ultimately hit on 6 Jordan’s – 3 rookie cards and 3 stickers, before he and Goldin shut down the IG Live. All told, if the cards grade out to Mint 10s, they could be worth over $1 million. 

You might have heard news about Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant cards being bought add ridiculously high prices. Perhaps that is what signifies the influence of Michael Jordan and other stars on the game and on the fans. But that being said, it is a pretty nasty collection by the American hip-hop star. Hopefully he can add more to his collection, to boast about before his next IG Live session. 

Given the level of craze Drake has for the game of basketball, his rookie card collection goes onto signify the same.
