Boston Celtics fell short against the Phoenix Suns in their recent match-up and the game ended with 111-90 on the screen. Celtics lost by 21 points and the team was terrible on all ends of the court. Boston Celtics are currently ranked 10th on the eastern conference ranking with the record of 13-14 (W-L) and the Phoenix Suns are currently ranked 2nd in the western conference rankings with the record of 20-4 (W-L) it’s a tie for the 1st rank with the Golden State Warriors.


Boston Celtics had a good start in the game and were trailing only by a single point at the end of the first quarter. The game turned around in the second quarter as Celtics scored only 15 points and the Suns had 32 while holding Celtics down on offense. Boston Celtics had a bad night offensively as well as defensively where they shot only 15.4% from the three point line making 4 out of 26 attempted 3 pointers and shot 37.6% from the filed goal making 35 out of 93 attempted shots.

The Phoenix Suns were better on every statistic aspect except the steals. Only 3 players of Boston Celtics scored in double digits and on the other hand 7 players of the Phoenix Suns scored in double digits. The defensive end of Celtics was also running low as easy finishes and passes were made from the Suns side.

Phoenix Suns were missing two of their stars DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker but still managed to win the game by 21 points as the veteran center JaVale McGee stepped up and dropped 21 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists on Celtics head. Boston Celtics were also missing Jaylen Brown due to a lingering hamstring injury which is one of the biggest reasons for the bad defensive end of the Celtics.

Jayson Tatum stated as per clutch points: “I think everybody just needs to be a little bit better. Obviously, we have to work together, but everybody needs to look in the mirror and do a little bit more and just be a little bit better. That would benefit everybody. We have to be mature enough as a group to say whatever happened, happened, let’s move on.”

Jayson Tatum went vocal and said facts covering everything the team has to get better on to win games. He also mentioned the lack of efforts and the urgency to improve while being mature and looking forward to what’s ahead. Jayson Tatum had 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in the game while making only 1 out of 7 three pointers attempted.

Jayson Tatum also added how it’s tough loosing three games in a row and now how they look to bounce back from this. The Celtics have always been a championship contender team since the duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum but things are just falling apart this season. They still have many games left and can change it around if the right efforts are made in the right place.
