“F*** the Hornets”- LiAngelo Ball approves of the fan’s demand to join the Chicago Bulls

LiAngelo Ball or Gelo as he is lovingly called is the 2nd youngest of the Ball brothers (Lonzo Ball being the eldest and LaMelo Ball being the youngest). Gelo is currently playing for the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G-League.
Greensboro Swarm is an NBA G League team associated with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. LiAngelo Ball signed with the Charlotte Hornets but was waived by them just the next day. He also played in the NBA Summer League, where he had five three-pointers in 16 minutes on his debut.
Thus far, his performance has been very efficient in the 10 games he has played thus far. He is shooting at 64% from the field and 58% from the three-point range. This is impressive considering he has not played competitive basketball since 2018.

Gelo signed with Prienai of the Lithuanian Basketball Association in 2017. Later, in 2018, he signed with the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA). JBA is an NBA-level college basketball league and was started LiAnglo’s father Lavar Ball.
Gelo has had an on-and-off relationship with the NBA. In 2018, he planned for the NBA Draft after leaving his college team UCLA Bruins. He did this despite not being a prospect for it as then reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. After having played outside, he underwent ankle surgery in 2019. He was signed by Detroit Pistons to a training camp contract but was waived later just like Charlotte Hornets.

LiAngelo Ball was at the Chicago Bulls game where a fan said to him – “Aye, f*** the Hornets bro, come to the Windy City Bulls”. At this statement from the fan, Gelo couldn’t help but smile at the idea of playing for the Chicago Bulls. Twitter universe sconded that fan’s demand of Chicago Bulls and LiAngelo Ball union.
With multiple teams being Covid-riddled and hence, short-handed, 10-day contracts in the NBA have become a lot more common. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Gelo is signed to a 10-day contract considering his performance in the G-League.
Charlotte Hornets currently have Gelo’s younger brother LaMelo Ball who is leading the team from the front. The Hornets have the 8th seed right now in the East with a 21-19 record. The Chicago Bulls, home to Gelo’s elder brother Lonzo Ball, on the other hand, are the top seed in the East with a 26-11 record for the season.
