Jonathan Kuminga
Keeping all the stats aside, Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors might be averaging one highlight dunk per game. After doing it against the Spurs and the Mavericks recently, he did it again in the Thursday night game.
The Golden State Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings 126-114 at Chase Center on Thursday. The Warriors clinched their 40th win of the season, only the 2nd team after the Phoenix Suns. They are now 40-13 for the season, which is the 2nd best record in the league. The Sacramento Kings on the other hand are 13-35 for the season and on the verge of extending their playoffs drought to 16 years.

For the Warriors, the Splash Brothers – Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson came alive. Curry scored 20 points on an efficient 7-11 from the field and 4-7 from three. Warriors fans would be hoping this is the end of Curry’s shooting slump. Klay Thompson had his best game in terms of efficiency as he went 7-9 from three-point range, just like the good old times. Thompson scored 23 points in 24 minutes of playtime. Andrew Wiggins added 12 while Jonathan Kuminga added 18 points.
For the Kings, star player De’Aaron Fox missed the game owing to a sore left ankle. Harrison Barnes, the former Warrior, scored 25 points for the Kings. Rookie Davion Mitchell top-scored with 26 points in the night, highest not only for the Kings, but in the entire game. Mitchell also had eight assists and shot efficiently from the field going 11-17.

Jonathan Kuminga’s highlight of the game
During the 4th quarter, Warriors were leading 105-92, Warriors went on a fast break. The Warriors got the defensive rebound after the Kings’ missed shot. Klay Thompson who had the ball threw a long touchdown-style pass to Kuminga who was already running towards the other end. Kuminga ended the play with a thunderous reverse windmill jam.
The dunk had the shades of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant’s dunks in the past. The iconic dunks of the two legends were also similar reverse windmills on a fastbreak. Twitter as usual loved seeing Jonathan Kuminga dunk. However, some fans were disappointed in how he did not make the Rising Stars Game or even the NBA Dunk Contest:
