“Goodbye CAVS” Trae Young goes supernova on Cavaliers for insane never-before-done playoff record
Trae Young
It seems like modern-day NBA fans are once again going to witness the Atlanta Hawks being led by marquee Trae Young as they got the better off Cleveland Cavaliers in the eliminator to secure their berth in the playoffs against the Miami Heat. While those who suggested that Young’s leadership was a fluke last time around, the All-Star has gone all out to carry his team on his back to answer all his critics.
After the Atlanta Hawks managed to trail by double digits at the end of the first half, Trae Young turned on the jets in the second half as he knocked down 30-points to secure his team’s comeback. While many expected the young squad of Cleveland Cavaliers to finally make the playoffs in LeBron less era. Yet it wasn’t this season wherein they were going to achieve the same.
Trae Young ruthlessly leads Hawks past Cavs to secure playoff berth
Young was clearly the best player on the court by a long shot in that game. The Hawks star was able to take control of an offense that was missing both of their starting forwards in the second half. He made clutch basket after clutch basket, and he was able to sprinkle in some dimes to keep the Cavaliers defense on their toes, the entire time.
With that win, the Hawks are now officially in the playoffs once again, this time as the eighth seed. They struggled earlier in the season, but were able to recover just in time to make the Play-In Tournament. From there, they dispatched the Charlotte Hornets and the Cavs to set a date with the Miami Heat in the first round.
That being said, Clint Capela’s nasty injury has put a cloud of uncertainty over the Hawks. Given that it is looking highly unlikely that the marquee defender might contest in the next series against the Miami Heat, all eyes will be on the supporting cast around Trae Young and how efficiently they function. But for now, let us simply applaud the prowess of one of the most dynamic players in modern-day NBA.
