With the trade now finally taking place, Fred VanVleet seemed satisfied with Young’s addition to the team calling him a great piece for the team, while at the same time, he seemed more satisfied with Goran Dragic’s exit from the team in comparison to the former, which doesn’t seem very weird keeping in mind the negligible impact Dragic has had on the team and his almost zero participation in playing with the team throughout the season.

Let us take a closer look at the happenings and find out what did Fred say and what was the reason behind him saying it.

Fred VanVleet didn’t hold back any of his words when he went after Goran Dragic saying that he was of no use to the team and it was great that the trade happened as “the other guy was sitting at home”, by which Fred implied that Goran’s unavailability for the Raptors wasn’t something very nice and he was of no use to the Raptors.

Goran Dragic played a total of 5 games adding up to 90 minutes in the entire season for the Raptors, which is something no one would appreciate, post which the Raptors felt it would be great to trade him, and this trade was a win for them as they got veteran forward Thaddeus Young, which in any scenario is a win-win for the Raptors.

The reason why feel that the Raptors won this trade is because Goran Dragic was nothing less than useless to the team, and his exit from the team meant the release of a bad contact, which definitely is commendable.

The Raptors got a draft pick in exchange of an inactive Goran Dragic who did nothing for the team, and his exchange was values equally with the arrival of Thaddeus Young who is a veteran forward and is multi-fold better than an inactive Goran Dragic, who only played a total of 90-minutes having no impact at all.

Overall, the Goran Dragic trade was a great deal for the Raptors who could make the best out of the talent Thad Young possesses.

The Denver Nuggets managed to defeat an in-form Toronto Raptors in a close margin 1-point victory which helped them in further bettering their record to an impressive 31-25 which helps them stand at a comfortable 6th position in the Western Conference.

Pascal Siakam led the way for the Raptors, scoring 35 points, 7 assists and 14 rebounds in the 42 minutes that he played, which is nothing short of impressive. Siakam was followed by the man Fred VanVleet himself, who scored 25 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds in an effort which fell short in helping them in getting a victory against the Denver Nuggets.

Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with 28 points, 6 assists and 15 rebounds, followed by Jeff Green who scored 19 points in an effort which was enough for the Nuggets to get a close victory against their counterpart.

Nuggets’ coach Michael Malone in reaction to ending the Raptors’ winning streak at 8 said, “We fought, we competed, and we found a way. This was a really big win. They had won more games than anybody lately.”

A disappointed VanVleet in reaction to the loss said, “We’ve been playing some good basketball. A couple more possessions tonight, maybe it would have went our way.”
