“He called me the King of Basketball”: Stephen Curry remembers ‘Fan Moment’ with LeBron James in college

Stephen Curry and LeBron James
There’s a moment in every fan’s life which they carry with them through all phases, and seems like Stephen Curry too is relishing his ‘fan boy’ moment. It is incontestable that Stephen Curry and LeBron James will go down in history as one of the most influential players of our times. The duo has been wreaking havoc on the court with their impeccable performances.
On one side, it is LeBron James who is living to defy all the ageist connotations as the man just turned 37 but he still plays like 27. The LA Lakers superstar is a four-time MVP, 17 Time NBA-All Star, and 4 times NBA Championship. Since his draft, James has time and again showcased why he deserves the Hall of Fame.
On the other side, it is the baby-faced assassin. Yes, Stephen Curry has earned the nickname for his cold-blood destructive nature. The 2 time MVP, is one of the most dominant offensive players on the court. Guarding him is like trying to catch a buzzing bee on the court because Curry never stops and it remains one of his astounding features. The33-year-old has recently broken Ray Allen’s All-Time NBA record for the most threes and he still has like 4-6 more seasons to play. Well, NBA, good luck with that.

Stephen Curry-“LeBron James called me the King of Basketball”

Stephen Curry and LeBron James are unarguably one of the competitive rivals in the NBA right now but that doesn’t mean there is a feeling of animosity between the superstars. Both Curry and James share a bond of respect and have been continuously seen to praise each other. Whether it is Curry commending LeBron for proving that age is just a number or it is LeBron praising Stephen’s unmatched talent as a Point guard. Either way, the fans are blessed to witness them compete on the court.
It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that both the players have changed the dynamics of the game but in their own way.
In a recent interview, Stephen Curry disclosed how he has still kept the jersey that was signed by LeBron James during his sophomore year in college. The latter would often show up to watch the games and was very impressed with Curry.
Stephen recited the whole incident, “I actually still have the jersey he gave me. He signed a jersey for me. I think that was November of my junior year. On my wall at my parents’ house in Charlotte, it’s still there. And he wrote it to me, called me the king of basketball in North Carolina. So I guess it’s like the corny idols-become-rivals thing.”
The world has its way, that skinny kid from Davidson College went on to become one of the biggest rivals of LeBron James in the NBA, and has bagged three NBA champions and 2 MVPs. Stephen Curry is the epitome of hard work and natural talent that has been nurtured with intense practice.
