“He can get injured every time he jumps” Twitter in agony as Anthony Davis cries out of pain with season-ending ankle injury
Anthony Davis
The latest news surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers is that they did not reach the play-in tournament let alone the playoffs. After having an open and honest session laying out plans and realizing areas of improvement LeBron James and Co. seemed determined to make it to the post-season somehow. Obviously, nothing much happened with them during the trade deadline period. This gave the roster another chance to regroup and sort out a working system.
After a rough stretch of three games, the Lakers were finally able to win an important game against the Utah Jazz 106-101. James carried the team throughout the game concluding with 33 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists with 14-23 shooting. However, another injury struck the roster during the second quarter of the game which may consequently strip the team of the tiniest shots at winning the title.
Anthony Davis suffers another possible season-ending ankle injury
We could all agree on Anthony Davis being a generational talent with his high scoring efficiency and defensive presence. But his consistency in movement may not be as good as his productivity levels. Davis, unfortunately suffered another injury almost halfway through the Utah Jazz game and it looked horrifying.
The Lakers were in possession of the ball during which Davis was given the responsibility of converting the basketball. While catching an overhead pass he accidentally bumped into Jazz center Rudy Gobert. His right foot came into contact with Gobert’s foot and twisted inward causing him to go down in pain.
The NBA forward remained on the ground for several minutes before being assisted by his teammates and taken out of the game. Officials say they suspect a fracture but if x-rays come out negative then it is most likely a severe ligament injury. Davis is expected to miss two weeks of playing time until further notice.
