He is one of the best big men in the league and has also made it to the MVP conversation and ranks ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Jokic, and LeBron James. He has made a solid case to bag that award home. As destruction from his side continues since the last season where he was the runner-up behind Nikola Jokic. Joel Embiid has single-handedly carried the Philadelphia 76ers as their second-best player Ben Simmons opted to not play for the franchise. But a trade hours before the deadline now has him happy since he got James Harden to hoop with.
Recently, appearing on The Old Man and the Three podcast with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter. Joel Embiid talked about an underrated part of Phoenix Suns franchise player Devin Booker which not many are aware of and that is his trash-talking skills. This season during the two match-ups where the Philadelphia 76ers played Phoenix Suns. The Suns always outshined the Sixers in those two closely contested match-ups as Devin Booker and Chris Paul got the most work done on both the ends while trash-talking.
It all started with the hosts asking Joel Embiid his top-five sh*t-talkers in the league. The big man in his list added names like Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, and Patrick Beverley. He even took a shot at Patrick Beverley as he mentioned he isn’t someone who can back the trash-talk up. But further JJ Redick suggested the two other names as Joel Embiid was out of the list. The suggestions were Chris Paul and Devin Booker.

Joel Embiid on Devin Booker’s trash-talking skills
JJ Redick started the rally as Joel Embiid was interested to talk about it. JJ Redick quoted: “Devin Booker is a low-key trash talker...” Further, Joel Embiid cutting him down in between quoted: “I don’t think people know that he talks a lot… we’ll he’s always talking. But that’s the thing I love that about you know these types of guys like they just know how good they are.” The big guy showed out his respect for the Phoenix Suns’ marquee even though he got shut downed by them but was very real while he was on the mic to discuss the trash-talk he went through.
The Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers can be a match-up for the National Basketball Association’s Final. As the chances for both the teams advancing to that stage are good but we never know when one falls short in a seven-game playoff series. But Devin Booker and Joel Embiid really have a better future ahead as they dominate the league.
