“He’s playing great. He’s not the best but”: Shaquille O’Neal gets into a heated discussion with Kenny Smith for mentioning DeMar DeRozan as the biggest Basketball player in the world

The NBA on TNT crew discussed the MVP race going on this season as the playoffs near and every superstar in the rankings is carrying his team to the postseason. Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith discussing the rankings gave away their opinions on different superstars like DeMar DeRozan, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic in the run. The discussion was also about to turn into a heated argument as Shaquille O’Neal disagreed with Kenny Smith’s take on DeMar DeRozan.

DeMar DeRozan, Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo stand strong at the top in the MVP rankings and so far are also the favorite ones to win the award this season. Most of the members of the crew had DeMar DeRozan ranked at the first spot and Kenny even said that he is the biggest Basketball player in the world. Shaquille O’Neal didn’t really agree with Kenny’s opinion on DeMar as everyone knows Stephen Curry has been the biggest player in the world for Shaq and many this year.

DeMar is also not much behind in the list as he has single-handedly changed the narrative around the Chicago Bulls since they signed him on the board. Currently, the Chicago Bulls are ranked as the second seed in the eastern conference of the league with the record of 38 wins and 21 losses at .644 as DeRozan leads the team. The fans have also nicked him as “Mr. Fourth Quarter” for his great clutch performances in the last minutes of the game.

Shaquille O’Neal on Kenny Smith’s take for DeMar DeRozan

When asked who in his book is at one, two and three replying to it Kenny quoted: “Joel Embiid is one, Giannis Antetokounmpo is two and I would say three is up for grab between… DeMar DeRozan is the three… Joker goes at fourth for me. DeMar DeRozan you know having the method number one seed 38 and 21, Zach LaVine hasn’t been there the whole time. He has put himself in the conversation of biggest Basketball player in the world.”

Shaq jumped in between cutting Kenny and Charles and quoted: “Stop it. Stop it…just because of the team… No you just said that he is the best player in the world…oh he’s not the best player in the world. Yes, he’s playing great but he’s not the best player in the world… You said the best player in the world not one of the best.” Kenny in the whole conversation was defending himself as he just wanted to convey DeMar being one of the best players in the season so far and not in the world. But Shaq caught him saying something he didn’t agree to and then like every other time made sure he is heard out loud.
