How does LeBron James still perform at a high level? Know more about the secret behind the 38-year-old’s longevity

LeBron James
LeBron James has been a successful basketball player for many seasons thanks to his diet and sleep habits. James, who is 38 years old, has been playing in the NBA for 20 seasons and still produces excellent performance levels. LeBron’s spending on his own body has been mentioned many a time by commentators and analysts before and the results are there for all to see
“At 18 and 20, you’re just doing it off straight-up energy and straight skill,” he said when comparing his younger self to now. “But at 38 for me, it’s mental… How much rest I can get from day to day, get my optimal sleep, get the right food in me, treat my body right.”
LeBron at an early age was a freak athlete who really didn’t get injured at all. It wasn’t until his first season with the Lakers that Bron really faced a major injury. The groin issue limited his mobility on the court and eventually caused him to miss the end of the 2018-19 regular season as the Lakers missed the playoffs. It initially seemed like a minor blemish on his injury record.
However, LeBron missed extended time again in 20-21 and only played in 56 games last season. As he ages, LeBron seems to be dealing with more and more injuries. That is to be expected of course. As players get older they tend to deal with more injuries. It is still a little bit of a surprise in James’ case considering his spotless injury record till 2018.
Does James have one last stretch of uninterrupted, injury-free basketball left in him before he calls it a career? The last time he had one, he led the Lakers to a title.
LeBron James continues excellent play even after turning 38 years old

On Monday night, LeBron James led the Lakers to a 121-115 victory over Charlotte with 43 points on 16-26 shooting. This is the second consecutive road win in which he has scored over 40 points. In Anthony Davis’ absence, the Lakers have leaned on LeBron and he is excelling in carrying his team, as he has so often done before. In this lackluster Lakers season, James once again has been exemplary. The recently turned 38-year-old has shouldered all of the load offensively with his younger co-star injured.
LeBron’s excellent maintenance of his body and prevention of injury has allowed him to enjoy 20 seasons of dominant basketball. Over these 20 seasons, he has averaged 27/7/7 and won countless awards. Perhaps the most telling piece and the ultimate reward of his longevity will be achieved in a small amount of time when he finally overtakes Kareem as the all-time leader in points.
