Chicago Bulls at the White House
During the early to late 90s, Michael Jordan was the hottest topic in conversation as he was at the top of his game at that time. Crowds went wild on seeing the Chicago Bulls legend walk into his gym, arena, and even hotel room. People had absolutely no reason to dislike him except for the fact that he always demolished his opponents. Jordan impressed fans of other teams so much that they would cheer his greatness.

MJ admitted that the famous and attention eventually became tiresome. He said, “On one road trip, we got into Denver at three in the morning and there were people sitting in the hotel lobby. I was tired. I said, ‘I’m sorry, please, I’m tired.’ Then I heard, ‘ I guess that’s the Jordan rules.’ I kept walking. One of these days I’m going to say, ‘Go screw yourself.’” The GOAT is not the first to open up about the paparazzi and fans.
Michael Jordan refuses to meet the US President following the 1991 finals victory

Following every NBA finals victory, the champions would traditionally pay a visit to the President. This was not only followed by the NBA but by many other leagues within the United States. But it’s not every that players take their time to go to the White House. Many players have refused to do so either their own personal reasons or socio-political factors. The most recent example of this would be when the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA finals and never met former President Donald Trump. This was during the peak of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The NBA Hall of Famer would not join the Bulls on their visit to the White House following his first-ever title victory, George H.W. Bush was the leader at that time. In an interview with Playboy, Jordan would reveal why he made his decision. “I didn’t want to go. I had something else to do. Before I would have said,’ Well, I had my reasons.’ I’d do it in a very respectful way, But that’s none of your business. The Bulls knew I wasn’t going, so why must I tell you? Go ask them why I didn’t go. They knew.” Turns out that nobody knew exactly why MJ did not want to join said, Jerry Krause.

Ironically, the Bulls went against the Lakers during the ’90-’91 season finale. The Bulls ended up winning the series 4-1 over the Lakers led by Magic Johnson and Vlade Divac. 27-year old Michael Jordan completely overtook everyone else he played with and against throughout the entire series. This would be the first of 6 championships he won with the franchise.

This solidified the name of Jordan as one of the greatest to have ever stepped onto the hardwood floor. He put up 55.8% from the field which included 50% from the three-point range and 84.8% from the free-throw line. Scottie Pippen was also part of this team who produced 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.
