“I like our chances”: Stephen Curry makes honest admission about the 2017 Warriors vs 1996 Bulls matchup

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry recently has claimed that the 2017 Golden State Warriors team would have been better than Michael Jordan’s 1996 Chicago Bulls team, if they are made to face each other today. As fans might be aware both these respecitve teams have proved their dominance with a decent setup and caliber of marquee players.

Kevin Durant was essential for the Golden State Warriors team in 2017, which assumed a vital part in their title run. They dominated 67 matches in the regular season to complete first in the West. While heading to the title, Stephen Curry and company beat LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. That Finals series was deemed as ‘revenge’ as the Stephen Curry led Dubs were baffled by Cavaliers a season before.

When asked in a GQ Sports talk, who might arise victorious in a seven-game series between the 2017 Warriors and the 1996 Bulls team, if made to come face to face today. The three-time MVP replied and gave a huge claim that they would dominate the 1996 Bulls team.

“Absolutely, obviously we will never know, but you put us on paper with them, I like our chances. I’d say Dubs in six.”– Steph Curry in the recent talk with GQ magazine.

The late 1990s were without a doubt overwhelmed by the Chicago Bulls. Moreover, the team of 1996 was extraordinary. They had legends like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. The group wrapped up with a stunning record of 72-10, which was subsequently broken by the Warriors team of 2016, who went for 72-9 that season.

Assuming that team of 2016-17 were to go facing the Bulls tradition, it would be a matchup for the ages. There would be many Hall of Famers and many would be from the NBA Top 75 in this matchup.

Picking a top choice among the two in a seven-game series would be extreme. There is no question that fans would partake in each and every moment of this conflict, and it would go down as perhaps the best last series throughout the entire existence of the NBA.
