LeBron James and Scottie Barnes

Potential Rookie of the Year candidate of the Toronto Raptors, Scottie Barnes single-handedly has been able to shut the marquee players in the past week. First, Nikola Jokic and the most recent being LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers. Even more so, the 20-years-old went onto outscore the purple and gold army all by himself (15-12), in the first quarter. A sa result of which, he had to face the terror of the King during a play in the second half of Lakers vs Raptors.

The Toronto Raptors have been a dominant force, coming into the Crypto.com Arena in recent years as they had won 6 straight games. With their form being in good swing, the team decided to lodge another attack of the Lakers, this time, being led by Scottie Barnes. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Lakers were trailing by 19-2 in the first quarter, which surely raised the frustration of LeBron James on his own teammates.

What was opinionated by Scottie Barnes?

Unfortunately for Scottie Barnes, who was on the floor, had no chance of avoiding the ball and took a shot directly to the face. James wasn’t acting out of malice, however. Instead, he was simply looking to throw the ball off of an opponent so his team could keep possession and flow into a sideline-out-of-bounds set.

“I just saw him loading up, and I was like, ‘Oh, man,'” Barnes said. “So, I just tried to cover myself, so it didn’t hit me in the face, because he put a lot of power onto it. He pulled it back and threw it. I was like, ‘Damn.'”

Apart from this incident with Scottie Barnes, LeBron has found himself getting onto the bad books of young players, one of which was Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart.

But keeping all that aside, all eyes will be on the King and whether or not he is able to inspire his depleted side past the regular season and into the playoffs. Will Anthony Davis’ return bring any help in that cause? Remains to be seen.
