“I wish I could do that” Zion Williamson left bamboozled by Ja Morant’s ascend to pike the ball

Zion Williamson and JA Morant

Zion Williamson was arguably one of the most hyped drafts in the history of the sport after Magic Johnson and LeBron James, his name had an impact like no other, and even when he was playing college basketball, he had more stardom associated with his name in comparison to many other players in the league. The never-ending saga of Zion’s injury is definitely making his team miss their star player who has skipped the entire season, but the man Zion himself seems to be missing the court more. Despite of reports that Williamson might return, there are no true signs of him coming back, only leading to disappointment.

Well, the disappointment isn’t only limited to the New Orleans Pelicans team which is lacking an important piece, but Zion Williamson also seems disappointed in himself as he watches players from the rival teams dominate his own team like he would’ve wanted to do, dunk like he would’ve wanted to dunk, take flight like he would’ve wanted and pike the ball like he always does. To see others live your dream often gets to you, and it seems to be getting to Zion who can’t wait to get back on court, but is also not giving any absolute signs of that process moving any forward.

The New Orleans Pelicans in the absence of their star player Zion Williamson lost yet another match, this time to the JA Morant led Memphis Grizzlies, who are on an incredible run this season, thanks to their marquee player. Though the Pelicans would’ve wanted their player Zion to perform and lead them in a similar fashion, he hasn’t been able to do that, but the player was present courtside to watch his team get absolutely brutalized. Let us take a closer look at Zion’s reaction to JA Morant piking the ball and getting the crowd hyped!

The Memphis Grizzlies who occupy the 2nd position in the Western Conference absolutely brutalized the 9th ranked New Orleans Pelicans who were putting all their efforts in, in order to get a much-needed win to keep their hopes of getting into the playoffs alive. The Grizzlies defeated their rivals by a massive 27-point margin as the Pelicans’ star player Zion Williamson could only watch from courtside keeping in mind the fact that he has been out the entire season for his team.

Morant’s pike and Williamson’s reaction

With right around 8 minutes 30 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter of the game, Larry Nance Jr’ went to score a basket from right under the rim, but Morant had other plans of not letting that happen. As Nance Jr. released the ball from his hand, Morant took flight and piked the ball deep into the stands, the crowd was shook, and so was the Pelicans bench, specifically their star player, Zion Williamson, who had expressions worth looking at. The Camera gave us one of the best shots in the form of Zion Williamson’s reactions which were second to none. He probably had flashbacks of his own acts from the time when he played.

Zion has missed out the entire season for the New Orleans Pelicans, which is definitely not the team wants, the team wants its star player to play, to perform, and to get them wins, out of which nothing seems to be happening at this point. Initially it was expected for Zion to not return this entire season, but the events take a turn very often and reports come out that the player might return, which is even fuelled by the videos posted by him where he is seen making massive dunks and splendid plays.

Despite all of these subtle hints, Williamson hasn’t come back on court yet, and reports still say that the player might return any time soon. Zion has seemingly started preparing himself for a comeback by playing 5v5 games with the squad on the bench and coaches from the team, no matter where these things take him, these definitely are a good sign for the team which wants him back as soon as possible. It will be interesting to see when Zion will be back and how his comeback will affect the performance of his team after the latest addition of CJ McCollum.
