“I would only do that if you bring in DeMar DeRozan and something else” Keyshaw and Jay Williams discuss potential Anthony Davis replacement for Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis and Chicago Bulls DeMar DeRozan
Los Angeles Lakers are in the off-season earlier than expected and numerous speculations regarding the future of the franchise are being discussed by experts. One such change drawn out of the discussion was replacing Anthony Davis with Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan.
82-games in NBA regular season are complete and the playoff picture is very clear for the 22 teams at least. 12 teams have a direct entry in the postseason, while 10 teams have some future planning to do after an early exit. While some of the teams were already in the “rebuilding phase”, a very unfortunate and underperforming Los Angeles Lakers team has much self-assessment to do. One of the quick fixes is of course major trade, which could be a change of directions for the team. Anthony Davis is involved in trade rumors with many teams including his hometown franchise Chicago Bulls.
While accessing the possible trades for Los Angeles Lakers, KJM talk show hosts Keyshawn Williams, Jay Williams, and Max come up with DeMar DeRozan as a potential replacement for the Lakers. In a discussion about Chicago Bulls’ 2023 plans, the trio of experts was adamant on fact that the Bulls require some special “winner” mentality player, who would be feared by the opponents.

The possible trade proposed between Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls for Anthony Davis
As per former basketball player turned analyst, Keyshawn Williams, the Bulls have a lot of “nice guy” frame of mind athletes in the team. The addition of talented Anthony Davis will allow them to go further next season.
Chicago Bulls had many ups-and-downs in the 2022 season. Injuries and the Covid-19 situation put the Top seed team on a losing run and they just managed to clinch the guaranteed Playoff berth n the East. Lakers on the other hand promised a lot at the start of the season but delivered nothing but disappointment for their fans.
Man in the discussion, Anthony Davis was hugely criticized for being “passive” this year, but fairly he played only 40 games in an entire season. He averaged 23 points, and 10 rebounds, just second to LeBron James on the team. While Los Angeles might be considering him as a future franchise player, the injury-prone 2020 NBA Champion could be an additional burden for them.
Quality and age-wise Davis is still an important piece for the Lakers. But trading him for MVP caliber DeMar DeRozan could be more fruitful for them. As for the Chicago Bulls, adding quality home pedigree and excellent ring protector will be an intriguing prospect. He could also add that “Missing” mentality in the team according to Keyshawn.
