With the present Los Angeles Lakers proving to register one of the worst ever record ever seen by the fan base in the 2021-22 regular season, even when they are led by the arguable GOAT. Many analysts believe that LeBron James could be on his way out. On the same note Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright has suggested that the purple and gold should consider blowing up the entire roster and start rebuilding the team from scratch.
Currently sitting in the 11th berth of the Western Conference, the Lakers have no breathing space having to play against Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets in their remaining games. With the San Antonio Spurs have New Orleans Pelicans having relatively easier games, many firmly believe that Lakers would not be making it to the postseason.

Nick Wright suggest Lakers to open trade doors for Anthony Davis
Nick Wright believes if LeBron James is going to demand a trade, it would in the franchise’s best interests that they should include Anthony Davis as well. He spoke on the show ‘First Things First’, “If LeBron wants out, and I think Anthony (Davis) has shown us as great he can be, as the best guy on the team, there is a ceiling there. So, if you’re trading LeBron then rip it down to the studs and trade AD as well.”
He continued, “But if they’re keeping LeBron, it’d be categorically insane to trade Anthony Davis for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and four first-round picks from Oklahoma City…As long as you have LeBron, you’re not planning for 2025 or 2026, you’re planning for right now.”
In simpler words what Wright wants to suggest, is that AD cannot be the marquee star around whom a team should and could be built. He gets injured far too often and such scenarios can never allow the team to settle, especially in clutch situations.
Wright concluded by stating that if James is planning on staying, trading Davis would be a mistake because there is no other trade scenario that would guarantee the Purple and Gold a championship in the near future. With all speculations in the air, the coming matchdays are super important from Frank Vogel’s team. Will they be able to storm their way into the postseason? Remains to be seen.
