Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar has caught a lot of headlines lately, after his criticizing statement on LeBron James during the Nugget’s win over the Lakers by 129-118 on Sunday night. Jabbar thinks that the Lakers star should act more responsibly when he is in front of the world and fans.
The six-time NBA champ was at the Crypto.com Arena to felicitate Carmelo Anthony with a new concept of the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Trophy for his contribution to the NBA’s Social Justice during 2020-21 season. But it seems he was not able to control himself from condemning LeBron in this ceremony.
Before the game started between LA and Denver, Kareem Abdul Jabbar said, “Some of the things he’s done and said are really beneath him, as far as I can see, some of the great things that he’s done, he’s standing on both sides of the fence almost, you know? It makes it hard for me to accept that when he’s committed himself to a different take on everything. It’s hard to figure out where he’s standing. You’ve got to check him out every time.”
Well through this statement the Lakers legend has pointed out some of the past actions of LBJ which he believes are inappropriate for the GOAT to do. Previously, Jabbar criticized the Lakers star forward for his big ball dance during an OT win over the Pacers in November. He also pointed out objections to memes shared by James which show 3 Spidermen with the name “Cold, Flu, and Covid” pointing at each other.

With this objection by Kareem Abdul Jabbar to the four-time NBA champ’s past action, many have raised the question that the Lakers legend is unnecessarily targeting LeBron James who is on his way to replacing him for 1st position on NBA’s leading scorer list. Many Sports analysts and NBA legend has presented their view on Kareem’s statement, but one reaction has shocked the whole NBA universe.
The reaction was by Skip Bayless a long-time criticizer of LeBron James has now come in support of his and claimed that Kareem is giving those statements because the Lakers Legend is afraid that the four-time NBA MVP will knock him down from his legacy of being the leading scorer in the league for almost three decades.

During the latest episode of the Undisputed podcast, “I am completely on LeBron’s side,” Bayless said. “This is coming from the deepest part of Kareem, the part that is threatened of LeBron knocking him off the pedestal.”
Skip Bayless lashed out at Kareem and defended LeBron James while saying that LBJ’s off-the-court work for social justice crusading is the greatest effort.
