Luka Doncic was able to lead the Dallas Mavericks to another win after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers in an epic blowout. The Mavs finished the game 128-78 with an impressive 50 point lead. They were able to hold down the Blazers’ offense during the fourth quarter of the game with 21-9 points. Dallas shot 53.2% from the field, 44.4% from three-point range, and 77.4% from the free-throw line.

Luka Doncic led his team with 39 points, 7 assists, and 11 rebounds on just 5 turnovers. He shot 57.1% from the field including 50% from three making 7 of his 14 attempts and 72.7% from the line. Dwight Powell finished with 18 points followed by 15 points and 7 rebounds by Dorian Finney-Smith. The Mavs are currently the 4^th seed in the Western Conference with 51 wins and 30 losses.

Luka Doncic gets suspended from the remainder of the regular season after recording his 16^th technical foul

Luka Doncic has had an exceptional year so far giving the Mavs their third straight playoff appearance since his arrival into the league. As great of a player he might be, he often gets heated for no calls on unfair plays which aggravates referees to activate the technical foul on him. During the latter part of the first quarter, Doncic received a technical foul from Tony Brothers for challenging an apparent foul. This turned out to be his 16th tech of the season consequently suspending him for the Mavs’ regular-season finale against the San Antonio Spurs.

The player averages 28.5 points along with 8.7 assists and 9.1 rebounds per game this season. Doncic shoots 45.7% from the field, 35.3% from beyond the arc with 3.1 made threes on 8.8 attempts as well as 74% from the free-throw line. After a tweet was sent out by a well-wisher of the NBA which confirmed Luka Doncic’s suspension for the final game against the Spurs, Kevin Durant replied by saying, “U get It.” For context, the tweet he replied to said fired referees for being “soft” saying, “If an official is gonna miss an obvious call like that one, the least he could do is extend the player some leniency for outrage at the missed call. As long as no expletives are said, all should be well.”

The Mavs with Luka would mean a guaranteed win against their opposition on Sunday as the team is only one game behind the 3^rd seed Golden State Warriors. Doncic single-handedly brought the Mavs to the top five in the league despite being surrounded by multiple injured teammates. They are most likely to face the Utah Jazz if they remain as the 4^th seed or the Denver Nuggets if they win their next game.
