If there is one analyst on this planet who has lived by every second of LeBron James, it is none other than Skip Bayless. The 70-year-old analyst is known to be one of the harshest critics of King James and ever since his Lakers haven’t been able to live up to the hype during the entire 2021-22 NBA Season, Bayless has consistently targeted the former hoop star.

But this time around, Skip Bayless has shocked some sections of NBA fans by suggesting how badly he wants the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James to make it into the play-in tournament. Currently sitting on the 11th berth, they share the same winning ratio to San Antonio Spurs. But with Anthony Davis and LBJ finally returning together against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Laker Nation expects some good form to creep in.

While the San Antonio Spurs have a better feel-good story, Skip Bayless urged his desire to watch Lebron and his army in the postseason whilst a discussion on UNDISPUTED alongside Shannon Sharpe, “I am, from my heart, rooting for your man LeBron James. Just because I want to see the Lakers in.”

If reports of Anthony Davis returning against his former team on Friday are indeed true, then the Lakers can expect some major help on the offensive end. Having missed 18 straight games because of a foot injury, AD has the world of critics to answers as in when he steps on the court dawning the purple and gold.

Given that the Los Angeles Lakers are head locked in a tight race for the final two spots in the play-in tournament, Anthony Davis’ return could help salvage their season. In the 37 games he’s played, Davis averaged of 23.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Los Angeles went 20-17 in those games. The Lakers are 11-28 without him. His return could prove to be extremely beneficial, but it will depend on what kind of shape Davis is in.

“There’s a huge X factor,” Bayless said. “He’s coming back at what percent of Anthony Davis? How rusty is he? How healthy is he? How driven is he?”

Are we bound to see the magic of LeBron James and Anthony Davis working wonders for the Lakers? Or has the time for a re-built come sooner rather than later? Remains to be seen.
