LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers who played the Portland Trailblazers, who have just traded out CJ McCollum and other starters, and Damian Lillard out of the Line-up, one has got to wonder what the hell did Lakers to lose the game?
LeBron James is tired mentally and physically
The Lakers went to Portland for their match on the road, they lost again with 107-105, the scores don’t do justice to the Lakers team, but sure do for the Portland Trailblazers. The Portland Trailblazers showed up with a depleted squad and even Damian Lillard was out for the game, you would expect the Lakers to win a game against such a team who had lost their previous match by 20-points to the Oklahoma City Thunders. Things just keep on getting worse for the Lakers, this time even Westbrook did not play.
LeBron James finished the game with 30 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds, LeBron has been dropping 30-point performances for the Lakers almost every single game this season, and still, they are a disaster. James after the embarrassing loss to the Trailblazers was out of juice and running dry for the Lakers, he is physically and mentally exhausted, not something you would expect from a 37-year-old, who is putting on stellar performances night in night out.
How long can LeBron James keep the Lakers alive?
The Lakers after the loss to the Portland Trailblazers registered their worst loss of the season, the Lakers started with their star duo and without the scapegoat of late Russel Westbrook. The trailblazers put up a line-up between a total overhaul of the team. Portland Trailblazers during their times of hardship put up with the Lakers and clinched a win. The Lakers were out of the running, registering 21 turnovers! No wonder the Trailblazers got a win, the Lakers were just running out of clues to beat their opponents. He played 36 minutes and kept on pushing, so it can be said he was bound to be fatigued. “I’m tired as hell right now. I want to get some wine and get to bed“, said a tired LeBron James after the match.
LeBron James has been their best player, but he is not totally accountable for all the wins for them. LeBron James had his share of turnover for the match, 6 turnovers by the King, something you would not expect from your star man. The trade deadline nearing, and if the Lakers want to salvage something from this season, they better move fast, because time is not on their side. The question now arises, how long can an Ageing LeBron James keep the Lakers hopes alive this season, after already doing so, much and getting so little.
