The inaugural edition of the NBA In-Season tournament boasts exciting prize money which will see every single player on the Champions team win $500,000 each. Head coaches will receive the same amount as the players while assistant coaches will get 75% of the prize money as that of the players.
The finalists will receive $200,000 per player, while the semi-finalists will get $100,000 each. Meanwhile, $50,000 is the cash prize for making the quarterfinals per head.
Every player on the teams eliminated in the quarterfinals, namely the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns, are already set to receive a cash prize of $50,000. Players on two-way contracts will receive 50% of the original amount.
In-Season tournament prize money for winners
The prize money adds up as teams advance deeper into the knockouts. Every player on the roster of teams that have secured their place in the semifinals will walk away with a cash prize of $150,000 ($50,000 for quarterfinals + $100,000 for semifinals) irrespective of the result.
Finalists will receive $350,000 per player ($50,000+$100,000+$200,000 for finals), except for players on two-way contracts who will get 50% of that. Every player on the Champions team has the chance to pick $850,000 through the entire tournament, a hefty paycheck right before Christmas. The Champion side will receive a total of $7,500,000 across the entire roster being the ultimate Winners prize pool.
When is the In-Season tournament Championship game?
The Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, and New Orleans Pelicans have booked their spots in the semifinals of the In-Season tournament. With the semifinals rolling out on December 7, the winners of the two decisive games will seal their tickets for the Finals.
