Adrian Wojnarowski opened up on the difficulties he faced while breaking news about the NBA in his time as a sports reporter.
Adrian Wojnarowski
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski has been garnering a lot of attention for his comments about his family. He recently retired from his ESPN sports reporter post after many years covering the sport. However, Wojnarowski’s commitment to his job took a toll on his personal life.
Wojnarowski talked about the compromises he made for his work and the impact that it had on his family and personal life. Because he was always the first to break the biggest breaking news in the NBA, his dedication to his work frequently came at the expense of his family time.
The 55-year-old discussed how the rigorous demands of his work forced him into odd situations, like breaking news from cemeteries and theme parks as his kids waited nearby.

“You know, how many times my kids were like parked in a cemetery while I'm breaking news? Just kids looking, and you kinda look at the rear-view mirror, and they're just looking at you like, 'What are you doing, man?'”

Being the leading NBA reporter meant that Wojnarowski had to put in a lot of overtime and sacrifice his personal time. There was hardly time to unplug or truly unwind due to the pressure to create the next “Woj Bomb.” Being at the top came with pressure, both professionally and personally, which Woj found harder and harder to sustain.
