NBA Insider reveals reality of Luka Doncic injury amidst Lakers fans panic
Lakers star man Luka Doncic has not perform as per his standards during his recent NBA matchup against the Hornets.

Throughout trade negotiations a few weeks ago, the Los Angeles Lakers made news for a variety of reasons. Mostly because they sent their best defender, Anthony Davis, in exchange for superstar player Luka Doncic, who was moved from the Dallas Mavericks. However, they haven’t yet witnessed a top Doncic display in Lakers colors this season. Even against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night, Doncic was not himself.
This did not go down well with the Lakers’ fans, because Doncic scored just 14 points against them. This was in addition to multiple turnovers and sloppy defense in the game. After watching this performance, Lakers fans have been raising doubts over his signature on social media. However, NBA insider, Shams Charania came to the Lakers’ rescue with some important injury update.
Luka Doncic is obviously working himself into basketball shape…that calf injury had sidelined him for the most significant point of his career and so he’s rehabbed it, obviously he’s back on the floor… It’s gonna take him some time… I think once he gets into rhythm, a routine, gets his legs under him, and gets into basketball shape, I think that’s when well see Luka Doncic perform.

Despite missing time due to a calf injury sustained in December, Doncic seems to be making progress toward a comeback. However, his recent performances haven’t been up to the mark ever since he started playing for the Lakers. In the end, he finished with 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting, with 1 of 9 from 3-point range, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 turnovers. He was constantly in foul trouble for much of the game.
It is quite understandable that Doncic will need time to be game-ready. The fans will need to stick by the Slovenian through this period. Now, all eyes will drift onto Doncic’s upcoming performances for the Lakers going forward into the season.
Luka Doncic made his intentions clear regarding his dismal performance against the Hornets
LeBron James led the club with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists at the age of 40, and the Lakers once again relied heavily on him against the Hornets. On the other hand, Doncic did not have the same energy on Tuesday. Notably, Doncic made his intentions clear regarding his poor performance after the game, in the post-match press conference.
Obviously, you know, it’s going to take a little time. A lot of rustiness from my part. Started the game with four or five turnovers. That can’t happen.
Luka Doncic told the reporters
"Obviously, you know, it's gonna take a little time."

In his first three games, Luka Doncic has averaged 14.7 points on just 35.6% shooting from the field, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 4 turnovers a game. His inability to settle into the team’s strategy and find his rhythm is reflected in these figures. That said, he has recognized the need for change and was critical of his own performance.
