New York Knicks’s Taj Gibson

Games can be defined by many words, for the New York Knicks, it is something much worse, as they have now plummeted to their worst ever defeat in 25 seasons. Knicks might have started this season decently, but since then things for them, have gone from bad to worse, thins were shocking. The Knicks blew a 28-point lead in their last game before they enter the All-star break.

The Brooklyn Nets were without their star man Kevin Durant, is just rubbing salt on there would, the more terrifying fact is that this is not the first time it has happened, where they are leading the game by a minimum of 20-points, but this is their third game when they blew up the lead and eventually lost the game, and all this comes within a month, this is shell shocking for the Knicks board.

Is Tom Thibodeau’s neck on the line?

Tom Thibodeau

After the embarrassing loss for the Knicks, the only question of significance was, whether it’s time for the New York Knicks to cut ties with the two-time coach of the year Tom Thibodeau? Tom has had very little answer for his critics after such a run, he has avoided questions regarding his job security after the Knicks lost to the Thunders on Monday night.

Against the Nets it was the same case, his team led by 20-points in the first quarter and increased the margin by 28 in the second quarter, Julius Randle made 20-points in the first half but in the second half, his impact in the game just got lost.

Tom Thibodeau’s past may be the reason the Knicks have not fired him yet, after coming under such pressure lately. This season Tom has not done a good job for the Knicks, and the record of 25-33 speaks volumes. There have been breakdowns during games and the fans have voiced their opinion about their head coach. If this was his first season as a coach he would have been gunned down by the Franchise, but it’s the experience that Tom has is keeping his job alive, if he were to be fired the Knicks would be looking for qualities that Tom Thibodeau already possess, he had a good season last year and everybody loved it. Many successful managers have been able to mess it all up at the top level, but if the Knicks really want to get back on track, they need to give an ultimatum to Tom Thibodeau, if he is able to get the team back on track, otherwise, the Knicks should come to a conclusion which ends the time of Tom Thibodeau as the Knicks head coach.
