The Western Conference currently seems like a movie script considering how tightly contested it is. More drama seems to unfold with every passing day as 4 teams have the same record. The Los Angeles Lakers are one of them and currently sit at the 11th seed with a record of 31-34.

The Lakers Revamped their roster at the trade deadline and acquired pieces like Malik Beasley, D’Angelo Russell and Jared Vanderbilt. The roster depth is really good compared to what it was and it has been reflected in the performances post the all-star break. The Lakers have 4 out of their six games including a recent 8 point victory against the Golden State Warriors.

But, they suffered a blow when their star Forward LeBron James heard a pop in his right leg against the Dallas Mavericks on February 26.The Lakers had an impressive 28-point comeback victory that game. Although James finished the game, scans revealed that he had occurred a tendon injury.

LeBron’s tendon injury has sidelined him for an indefinite period of time and is expected to be reevaluated on March 23. His status remains unavailable until further updates from the Lakers organization.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be playing without Ja Morant who has been suspended for 2 games following a controversy regarding illegal possession of a Gun.

Small forwards are usually the most versatile players in the team and are expected to make cuts / drive in and lead fastbreaks. LeBron James has a right foot tendon injury and will be re-evaluated in three weeks. There are only 20 games left in the season for the Lakers and after three weeks, they’ll have just under 10 games remaining just when he is re-evaluated. It sounds like James returning for the final 5-7 games or so is best case scenario. Anthony Davis and the rest of the team will have to hold it down as the Lakers try to enter the play-in.
