While the Detroit Pistons is one of the three teams which were ruled out of postseason contention with more than 10 games remaining to end the regular season, they surely have had some positive limelight shared by their players. Including the likes of Isaiah Stewart, Cade Cunningham, Marvin Bagley III, all three of which were involved in a clutch play against the New York Knicks, in the team’s latest encounter.

The Knicks locked horns against the Pistons on the road, with the aim of winning all of their remaining games in order to secure a play-in tournament from Atlanta Hawks. With just over couple of minutes remaining to close out the fourth quarter, the away team led by 6 points, when Cade Cunningham found Marvin Bagley III inside the paint, with Julius Randle chasing him.

Catching the ball, handful of Pistons fan expected the in-form Marvin Bagley III to be able to score as his back was facing the rim. But in the transition the Detroit player went onto score an epic reverse dunk of Randle and also won a foul. This was the first time in Bagley’s career that he went onto register consecutive 25+ points games for his team.

Marvin Bagley III went onto score 27 points and 7 rebounds with a 79% field-goal accuracy against the New York Knicks. However, it was the away team who inched past Pistons 104-102, to still have a slight chance of catching up against the Atlanta Hawks for the last berth of the play-in tournament.

On one hand, where the New York Knicks were led by RJ Barrett with team high 21 points. Immanuel Quickley’s 18 points off the bench, went onto make a huge difference for the away team. Whereas Isaiah Stewart scored a double-double for his team, with Cade and Saddiq Bey adding 18 and 14 points respectively. Having won 33 games in the 2021-22 season, the Knicks are now 4-wins behind the Atlanta Hawks. Will we see them in the post season? Remains to be seen.
