Isaiah Thomas agrees to sign a 10 day contract with Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers are without several players due to injuries and the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols so under the hardship exemption has decided to sign Isaiah Thomas for a 10 day contract. Isaiah Thomas somewhat matches the energy Los Angeles Lakers need especially during their next games where they are short of veterans like Dwight Howard and Russell Westbrook.
Isaiah Thomas is called up from Grand Rapids of NBA-G League by his former team Los Angeles Lakers where he suited up and played 17 games during the 2017-2018 season. The last time IT (Isaiah Thomas) played an NBA game was during the 2020-21 season when the New Orleans Pelicans signed him to a 10-day contract. He averaged 7.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists across three games for the Pelicans.
Isaiah Thomas was in MVP conversation of the league during his time at Boston Celtics. He was named an NBA All-Star in both 2016 and 2017, and received All-NBA Team honors for the 2016–17 season where he led the Celtics to the first seed of the Eastern Conference and finished 5th in MVP voting. But the Boston Celtics decided to trade him to Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving and it resulted in Isaiah Thomas being out of rotation and then soon out of the league. He averaged 28.9 PPG, 2.7 RPG and 5.9 APG during his last season at Boston Celtics.

Isaiah Thomas’ comeback run with the Los Angeles Lakers?
The 32 year old veteran guard dropped 42 points in his NBA-G League debut for Grand Rapids Gold and soon got called up by the Los Angeles Lakers as they were short of many players. Isaiah Thomas was drafted in 2011 National Basketball Association’s Draft as the 60th pick by the Sacramento Kings and had a hell of a journey but was abandoned by the league around the 2019-20 season. Thomas now with Los Angeles Lakers will have his opportunity to run a comeback as he will get enough of playing time since most of the starters of Lakers are either injured or side-lined due to health and safety protocols.
Isaiah Thomas knows how to move the ball and is also a good shooter who can take and make shots while his off ball movement helps him to get wide open shots and make easy rotation because of him being 5 ft. 9 inches. His time with Los Angeles Lakers may open many more new contracts for him to make a sure comeback run back to National Basketball Association and prove teams like Boston Celtics who gave up on him wrong.
