LeBron James clutch air-ball has made things more difficult for the Lakers as their wish to qualify for the play-in tournament is on the edge as they lost the game to the New Orleans Pelicans by 114-111 on Friday night. Despite LBJ’s extraordinary effort the Lakers still suffered the embarrassing loss which might even cause them elimination after the regular season ends.
It was a crucial game for the Lakers, as they were fighting to make a place in the 10th spot in Western Conference which is very important for LA if they want to continue their playoff hopes. The stage was set for an intense battle between the Pelicans and the Lakers, as for LA their two big stars Lebron James (after two games) and Anthony Davis (after 18 games) made a comeback after recovering from their injuries but even though the firepower came on the court it was not enough for the Lakers to beat the Pelicans.

The duo of King James and Anthony Davis made the game more entertaining as they both were in an offensive roll which kept the team on track and they didn’t let the Pelicans take a bigger lead. The Four-time final MVP scored 38 points and Anthony Davis was supporting him with his 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.
What went wrong despite LeBron and AD’s spectacular performance? The Lakers were leading by five points and looking good till the last five minutes were remaining in the game, but after that, the downfall of the Lakers clearly showed how bad they are in the clutch situation. In the last five minutes, LBJ and AD were 0-for-3 from the field and Russell Westbrook missed some field goals at the rim.

In the postgame conference, the four-time NBA champ appeared with a dull face and explained why it was a big loss for them. He said, “The big picture is that it pretty much was a must-win for us, and we didn’t get the job done, we had great opportunities throughout the night, and we didn’t make enough plays down the stretch. So that’s the big picture.”
The Lakers still have some chance to grab their play-in spot confirm, but they have to go 5-0 in their remaining five games. Meanwhile, when we take a glimpse of their upcoming game it’s sure that the tough days are knocking on their door.
