The Memphis Grizzlies suspended Morant from all team activities following the second gun incident, in which he was observed displaying a gun on Instagram Live yet again. Prior to this, the point guard generated widespread outrage in March when he displayed a gun on his own Instagram Live.
Back then, he had faced a suspension of eight games from the league. But this time, the penalty will be much more severe. As Morant stands to lose about $7.6 million worth of pay in the coming season, the terms of making it back to the NBA have more to that. Apart from just salaries per game, the Grizzlies star stands to lose quite a lot more.

Ja Morant’s Suspension Terms
The NBA has concluded its investigation regarding Ja Morant’s second gun fiasco. The verdict came as a 25-game suspension without pay for the Grizzlies star. Morant will not return before that, as announced by league chairman Adam Silver in an official statement.
“Ja Morant’s decision to once again wield a firearm on social media is alarming and disconcerting given his similar conduct in March for which he was already suspended eight games. The potential for other young people to emulate Ja’s conduct is particularly concerning.”
“Under these circumstances, we believe a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes clear that engaging in reckless and irresponsible behavior with guns will not be tolerated. For Ja, basketball needs to take a back seat at this time,” said the official statement.
“Prior to his return to play, he will be required to formulate and fulfill a program with the league that directly addresses the circumstances that led him to repeat this destructive behavior.”
The suspension will restrict Ja Morant from partaking in league-related activities with or without his team, the Memphis Grizzlies. And in order to make his way back to the NBA courts, Ja Morant will have to enter counseling programs with the league.
