Minnesota Timberwolves’ play-in win was celebrated widely at the Target Center. Patrick Beverley, who was leading the pact of wild celebrations was recently criticised by Stephen A Smith for bit of over enthusiasm, perhaps in the early stages of the postseason.

Minnesota Timberwolves advance to the playoffs at expense of the Los Angeles Clippers, 109-104 wins over the Play-in competitors handed the Wolves direct entry into the Playoffs, while the Clippers have one more shot for the final spot as they will play New Orleans Pelicans next. One player most excited about the win and Playoff berth was Patrick Beverley. His wild celebrations might have cheered Minnesota fans but Stephen A Smith thinks otherwise.

TV and Radio sports personality Stephen A Smith was on NBA on ESPN show, where he along with Jay Williams and Tim Legler discussed the Minnesota Timberwolves vs LA Clippers game. Smith praised the Wolves teams’ performance, but over Beverley’s celebration he said, “At this stage, it shows me two things, number 1 , you never really won before and number 2 you ain’t gonna win.”

Smith was very critical of the celebrations and predicted that the team cannot win any further, considering the “Wild” celebrations are very early for the team to challenge for the ultimate trophy. But former basketball player Jay Williams contradicted Stephen.

Accepting the celebrations as a bit excessive, he said, “For team that has been to the playoffs 2 times in last 18 years, you just gave us great colors on background of Patrick Beverley. He is their leader.” He also said that a “cool attitude” after a win has to be changed for some time.

Minnesota finished 7th in the West, 1 place above Los Angeles Clippers in regular-season games. Two teams slotted in a Play-in match to advance directly to postseasons. Clippers were playing without Kwahi Leonard, but Paul George was still a threat to Minnesota aspirations.

George put up high performance and scored game-high 34 points, with 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the game. But a great game from potential All-star Anthony Edwards, and guard D’Angelo Russell denied George having the last laugh. Former Clippers guard Patrick Beverley was the 6th man for the Wolves who played his defensive part in the game and checked on in-form George in the dying minutes of the game.

It was quite obvious that energized and charged up Beverly had most on-line and his celebrations also showcased his emotions. The team has one of the best big men Karl Anthony Town and earlier Kevin Love, in the roaster for many seasons, still, they just managed 2 playoff appearances in the last 18 seasons.

Though The Wolves have some rest days in hand to prepare for their postseason matches, they have a very tough route ahead of them. They have young and talented Memphis Grizzlies waiting in 1st round.
