Grayson Allen takes down Jaren Jackson Jr

On Saturday Night, Grayson Allen again caught the headlines for his dirty play, this time on his former teammate. The Milwaukee Bucks were at Memphis for a regular-season game against the Grizzlies, while keeping aside the performances of the other player, Bucks forward Allen continued his performance of making a dirty play and this time his target was Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr.

This was not the first time in this season that Grayson Allen has done something horrible like this. Previously, in January when the Bulls were playing against the Bucks at their home, he did something similar. Allen fouled Caruso hard on a transition layup that brought about Caruso taking a hard tumble to the floor and breaking his right wrist. Caruso did have a medical procedure and was sidelined for about six to eight weeks. The NBA suspended Allen for one game, and Milwaukee fought the choice.

In the third quarter, the game was seen to be going into the hands of the Grizzlies as they gained the 13-point lead in the initial stage of the quarter. Meanwhile, the Bucks forwards were struggling to get rebounds and score, but Grayson Allen found another way to get the work done for the Milwaukee-based franchisee.

When 7:35 minutes were remaining at the end of the third quarter, the Bucks had possession of the ball and for them, George Hill tried to score a 3-pointer which he failed, after that Grizzlies big man JJJ almost grabbed the rebound but got a hard flagrant foul by his former teammate Allen. The foul was so hard that Jaren was not able to stand for a few seconds and was lying down on the floor. Fortunately, no major injury was reported by the Grizzlies.

The dirty plays have now become a highlight of Allen’s career, he developed his reputation as the dirty player when he was playing at Duke. Allen has stood from his school days as a sketchy player choice on the court. These plays are making Bucks forward Allen the “villain” in the league which even Kendrick Perkins admitted after the Caruso episode.

“No way am I promoting danger to other players,” Perkins said. “You know I want Alex Caruso to get healthy, but we need villains. … We need tough guys, especially in the NBA right now. … The game has gotten soft.”
