Karl-Anthony Towns’ savage response on trash-talking LeBron James, Lakers
Karl Anthony Towns
When the Minnesota Timberwolves were dominating the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, Karl-Anthony Towns made sure to allow LeBron James to hear it. According to the All-Star large man, however, he didn’t start it and just handled what he was getting. In his latest podcast, Towns opened up about trash-talking James midway through the final quarter of their 124-104 victory win. The Timberwolves star was caught on camera calling the Lakers’ leader a “btch as n*gga” as he flexed and showed his dominance.
Karl-Anthony Towns explains why he trash-talked with Lakers
When asked about it, Karl-Anthony Towns said that “people was talking sh*t on the sideline,” so he “handled it.”
True enough, what better way to respond to all the trash-talking than talking trash as well but backing it up with action? Towns certainly did that and more, as he effectively shut down all the noise coming from the Purple and Gold.
Towns didn’t reveal the name of the player who started talking, nor did he reveal what was said. But for a Lakers team that’s 12 games under .500, it probably wasn’t really smart to say anything.
Seemingly filled by the words of his competitors, Towns went off against the Lakers, dropping 30 points and 8 rebounds on 53% shooting. He went viral for his performance and theatrics, but some say he took it too far.
Huge KAT finished with 30 points and eight rebounds in the contest. He went 8-of-15 from the field and made life hard for LA in the painted area, as LeBron James and company kept fouling him. The 3-point shooting champ finished 13-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Towns and the Timberwolves are having a great season. Without precedent for years, they seem as though a real playoff team that poses a threat to any squad in the West.
But the season isn’t finished yet, and they still have a lot to demonstrate before anyone is really taking them seriously. Depssiteall the talking they’ve done throughout the course of recent days, it remains to be seen on the off chance that they can handle the pressure of a 7-game series.
