Kendrick Perkins has some of the most interesting takes out of all the NBA Analysts, and the man knows what he is talking about, so therefore, when Perkins gave an inside scoop on the thought process of the coaches of NBA Teams, it shook up the fans of the league all around the world. While in conversation during the Celtics Postgame Live, Kendrick decided to give some tea regarding the team locker room strategies, which to say the least, were a bit, uncanny. With the playoffs approaching, teams are now gearing up in order to compete with a 0-0 record alongside their names and that isn’t all that matters to them, there’s a lot more going on inside.

Kendrick Perkins has played in the NBA for 14 seasons with different teams and therefore he has a lot more idea about the league than any fan or a pundit, and which makes it a bit more obvious to understand why his scoops are always interesting. Throughout his 14 seasons in the league, he has gained a better understanding of how teams function and the kind of strategies they make, and Perkins decided to share that knowledge with his fellow analysts on the Celtics Post-Game Live show.

After the Boston Celtics’ game against the Toronto Raptors, which the former lost by a narrow 3-point margin , Kendrick Perkins joined the analysts on  Celtics Postgame Live show to discuss the loss of the team and their path ahead moving into the playoffs. Perkins while speaking about the easier path the teams want while going into the playoffs highlighted certain strategies that baffled other analysts and definitely confused fans on social media.

Perkins spoke about teams wanting to go through an easier path in order to get their hands at the title no matter how good they may be. He stated “When you’re a team that wants to win a title…like I said, you’re not running from anyone, but again, you want to make your route as easy as possible to accomplish the goal you’re trying to accomplish,” highlighting that the teams don’t want to chase pressure in their quest of the championship.

Perkins then added, “If you don’t think for one second that those top teams are not watching and seeing what’s going on with the Brooklyn Nets, and saying to themselves, shoot, if we can finish right there in this third, fourth or fifth slot, at least in the first round, we like these matchups, coaches do think about that, I’m telling you. These conversations happen in the locker room.” Highlighting that there is much more going on inside the locker rooms than we know.

If we talk about the specifics of this Celtics team against the Brooklyn Nets, the Celtics are 3-1 against the Nets this season, but have only faced Durant and Irving together once, which means that Kendrick’s assumptions about the Celtics wanting to choose an easier path could be valid. It will now be interesting to see how the tables turn out at the end of the regular season and which team is pitted against the other.
