“Kevin Durant is the best player in the world… I’m just trying to get better”: Giannis Antetokounmpo on Kevin Durant after Bucks defeated the Nets

Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo sure made his comeback in style. The two-time MVP had to miss Milwaukee Bucks’ last match against the Toronto Raptors due to an illness, it wasn’t covid as reported.
The match against the Raptors was important for the defending champs especially after their humiliating loss against the Detroit Pistons by 115-106 but who knew they would lose to the Raptors as well. And, Giannis’ absence didn’t help the Bucks.
Putting all of their hopes on their next match they traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays. The Bucks completely dominated the Nets and handed them over their first defeat after two consecutive games. This win must have neutralized the pain of their last two losses to some extent as they seem confident to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo- “Kevin Durant is the best player”

Giannis went all out with the nets and dropped a 31 pointer game with 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Bucks with their regular roster are quite hard to contain on the court, and when one is missing one of their key players then it only gets tougher.
Yes, Kyrie Irving didn’t play at the Barclays as according to the New York state he is ineligible because he is still unvaccinated. Kyrie won’t be able to play any home games as long as he stays unvaccinated and it is a huge problem for the Brooklyn Nets.
Although even without Kyrie, the Nets held on to the match pretty fine. James Harden scored 16 points and Kevin Durant dropped 29 points with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. As the game finished with the Bucks winning by 121-109, the reigning champion was full of praises for KD.
In the post-match interview, he called Kevin Durant the best player in the world. Giannis stated, “KD is the best player in the world… he has shown it in the past, he’s showing it right now… I’m just trying to get better.”
Well, it is not false too as Kevin Durant has been on a scoring spree this season. He is bagging an average of 29.9 points per game. He along with Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo are some of the leading names in the race for the MVP this season.
This NBA Season is like the clash of titans as every team is bringing their A games on the court and the fans are having a blast. Whosoever becomes the MVP this season, would be totally deserving considering the level of performance each of them is showcasing on the court.
