The pre-season game featuring the LA Lakers vs Brooklyn Nets is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 3 at Staples Centre. To those who are not aware, Spectrum Sports Net will locally broadcast the game, and nationally it will be on NBA TV as the 75th season’s bonanza commences. Russell Westbrook is the seventh former MVP to be acquired by the LA Lakers, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that after Lakers have recruited Westbrook, they have formed one of the most electrifying and versatile line-ups in the NBA.

“There may be others, but as of right now those are the guys that we know will not play,” Frank Vogel, the head coach, told the media after their practice session. He further added, “We’ll huddle up after practice tomorrow and see if any of the other guys will not be in there, but right now that’s what we’re thinking.”

Anthony Davis might play but just for a quarter. The veteran was last seen in the NBA playoffs after which he acquired an injury to his groin. In an online interview, LeBron said, “It’s not about proving people wrong, it’s about proving himself right. I’m looking forward to a very angry Anthony Davis.”

It is no news to the audience that the LA Lakers have players whose magnificent history has left them shining brightly in the constellation of the NBA. So, the question arises will the absence of these shinning former MVPs would have fewer numbers of nets in the game? Maybe, the LA Lakers are resting their big names during the pre-season, so that they could have a dynamic season ahead. As for the Brooklyn Nets, they will also bench their key players like Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, Patty Mills, etc. Nets’ Coach Steve Nash, told the reporters on Saturday.

Despite everything, the Lakers fans are excited for the match even though it means missing out on watching their favorite players.
