He won the Rookie of the Year award and in his career has six NBA All-Star selections. Pau Gasol is also a Laker Legend as playing alongside Kobe Bryant he won two championships straight in two years (2009 and 2010). He hasn’t been around the league since 2019 but aging 41 his love for basketball still has him hooping for FC Barcelona.
Recently, Pau Gasol stunningly revealed his potential return to the league on The Old Man and the Three podcast sitting alongside JJ Redick. The viral clip predicts his future with the Golden State Warriors as he mentioned in his rally. Currently, the Golden State Warriors are ranked as the third seed in the western conference with the record of 48 wins and 26 losses at .649.
The Stephen Curry less Golden State Warriors are down and struggling which has everyone from the Head Coach Steve Kerr to the Dub Nation triggered. Pau Gasol’s return to the league with Golden State Warriors
Pau Gasol discussing the league and talking about the game quoted: “Young guys can benefit from your knowledge and can benefit from your experience, and you can help them grow and help them in their journey. I’ve enjoyed those different points in my career, and I miss that in a way. But now I’m exploring a potential role with a team. I’ve been going a little bit under the radar with the Warriors, and they’ve kinda opened their doors for me to come in and be part of meetings, see the guys a little bit, and talk to some of the guys. It’s been nice. Maybe I’m gonna do that more and more as I go forward.”
Pau Gasol didn’t really specify the role he looks to be in with the Golden State Warriors. But the way he expressed the exchange he has had so far with the team directs at him being on the administrative side maybe the coaching staff or management. There’s no loss in having such a guy around your team as his knowledge and guidance will always be worth it and help the team to improve. So the Golden State Warriors are already winning this deal if it happens in the near future.
