Los Angeles Lakers are back at being inconsistent again as the team even after half the season hasn’t really reached its prime potential. This off-season the Los Angeles Lakers hand-picked their veteran roaster while giving away their young core who now looks better then what the Lakers got for in exchange. This season LeBron James added names of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan, Trevor Ariza and some more to his squad. But the on-paper expectations from this not so championship contender team isn’t really the same as it comes to reality.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently ranked as the 8th seed in the western conference with the record of 21 wins and 22 losses at .488 as they are on a three games losing streak. LeBron James is most of the times seen helpless as the support fails to deliver when needed the most even if the king is stepping up with MVP calibre performances every night. The team also has its second best man who is in the uniform for quite a time out as Anthony Davis is side-lined due to a MCL sprain. With these they also had many players in this journey side-lined for a while due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols and injuries which made them use NBA’s hardship exception if they wanted to continue their season.

Los Angeles Lakers coming out of nowhere signed Isaiah Thomas this season for a 10 day contract but that didn’t really fit in as again they parted ways. But one other signing the Los Angeles Lakers are seen sticking to as they have re-signed the player is of Stanley Johnson and now the 25 year old forward looks great as the chances of him getting a long term deal are reaching the ceiling but nothing can be made sure as of now since the front office of Lakers is on the verge to be active soon after their 37 points blowout loss.

Stanley Johnson on 17th January 2022 acquired his third 10 day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers under the National Basketball Association’s hardship exception. Finally it looks like Stanley is getting the right recognition as he is making out the most of Los Angeles Lakers roaster struggles while fitting the best in. Stanley Johnson was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 2015 as 8th pick overall but didn’t really lived up to the expectations the league had around him and the criticism against him turned out to be true as soon he wasn’t really the guy a team wanted.
After shifting boards with 3 teams in 2021 the forward is all set to make a comeback dressed up in purple and yellow uniform after he spent some time at the G-league with the South Bay Lakers and showed out his potential and abilities. This season with the Los Angeles Lakers Stanley Johnson is averaging 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks per game as he suited up for 9 games so far.
Stanley Johnson isn’t someone the league believes as a offensive threat but talking about defence if trusted with minutes he isn’t that down in the list as he knows how the job’s done and opponents are locked up. As of now Stanley is safe in the league for another 10 days but after it as Anthony Davis will be returning soon and front office will be making certain major changes to get some court mobility. We may find Johnson either on a guaranteed or non guaranteed long term deal with Lakers or any other team around the league.
