Former NBA Champion, Charles Oakley has never shied away from praising Lakers’ marquee LeBron James. Especially after the 37-years-old dropped couple of 50-point games, the whole world embraced the greatness of the King. Yet the form of LeBron’s team has been consistently poor, game after game. A surprising fact being, that since January 7, purple and gold army haven’t won consecutive games.

On the same note, Charles Oakley sympathized with LeBron James on the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay on YouTube. How ironic is it to witness, the team which was speculated to be making the NBA Finals might not even reach the postseason after a month’s time. Even when they have the greatest ever superstar ever seen in the sport in modern-day basketball.

What was opinionated by Charles Oakley on LeBron James?

Discussing the same with Shannon Sharpe, Charles Oakley said, “The last time I seen a situation like this was with Michael Jordan.

“I just feel bad for him – the situation that is going on in LA right now. And last time I seen a situation like this with a superstar was with MJ for his five six years in the league when I come over to the Bulls. Getting 30, 8 and 8 and still losing .500 team. That ain’t him. He deserved better than that, you know.

“I don’t know what is going to happen. He might have to get out of LA. I hate those fans hear me say that, but he needs a ring. He might have to leave to get it, and two places that he can probably get it in right now, either Phoenix or Philadelphia.”

Rightly pointed out by Oakley, LeBron does seem to have lost the will to lead a depleted side. Having to do all on the court, he is even without his partner Anthony Davis. Given that the last berths of the play-in tournament, have all-to-do in order to play only the 1st seed of the conference, it will be interesting to see if the Lakers can find a spark to make the greatest comeback in NBA history.
