“LeBron James is my guy but nobody was ever scared of him” Shaquille O’Neal believes players are confident in facing the Lakers stars

Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James
If there is one player who has been the face of modern-day NBA for almost two decades, it is none other than LeBron James. The 37-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star has won 4 NBA Championship with 3 different teams. Moreover, he is a 19-time All-Star has gone to breaks records season after season. The most brutal Hall of Famers including Shaquille O’Neal have been in awe of the hoop star.

Given that the legacy of LeBron James will always be unmatched, Shaq suggested that no modern-day NBA player has ever been sacred to face the wrath of the King. As successful as LeBron James has been, there have been some questions raised upon his ability to scare the opposition. Shaquille O’Neal decided to comment upon this.
What was opinionated by Shaquille O’Neal on LeBron James?
In his latest podcast release, Shaquille O’Neal shared that the LA Lakers forward was not feared by his opponents on the court. He, however, stated that he was dangerous to go against but was never feared.
“LeBron James is my guy, but nobody was ever scared of LeBron,” Shaq said. “So, if you’re not scared of a guy, you just have much more confidence. That’s a dangerous guy to play with. They respect him, but they don’t fear him ’cause I can tell, I watched him playing against them, they not scared.”

This thought process has also been expressed by Stephen A. Smith in one of his “First Take” broadcasts. He shared that James was respected, being too great not to be, but not feared.
“LeBron James is too phenomenal and too great not to be incredibly respected, but in my estimation, from the people that I’ve spoken to covering the league, he’s never been feared.”

Furthermore, Shaq went onto suggest that modern-day NBA players are more scared to face Giannis Antetokounmpo than LeBron James. To justify the claim of Shaquille O’Neal, Giannis has been highly appreciated and applauded for his aggressiveness on the court and his beastly nature in the paint, birthing the sobriquet “Greek Freak.”
