“LeBron James wants to be on Top”- Kendrick Perkins on King James wanting to Put an End to Michael Jordan debate

LeBron James and Michael Jordan

Every decade has its own decorated players and for this, it is LeBron James who also goes by the nickname, King James. James is currently one of the most prolific players in the league. With four MVPs, Four NBA championships, and 17 Time NBA All-Star which is the most for any player currently active, LeBron James surely stands above his peers.

But LA Lakers’ current performing situation is like a scar on his illustrious records. The Lakers may have had the best teams when the season started but they have clearly failed to justify their talent on paper and have remained to best just on the paper.

This season is like it belongs to the suppressed talents as the underdogs have given the top dogs a run for their bread. And, Lakers knows it better than anybody else.

When there’s more than one talent that gets the entire arena on their feet and an adrenaline rush like no one else then they are often named as G.O.A.T or the Greatest of all Time, and it is no brainer the NBA has a considerable amount of those which often leads to comparison.

The comparison debate is not restricted to just one sport but can be seen across all other formats. For eg: in Football (Soccer) Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi. No one knows when such rivals will ever appear again but they do sure want to know who the best is.

One of the currently most talked about rivalries in the NBA is between the legend Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Flying Mike has rendered the whole world speechless when he destroyed his opponent mercilessly. During the 1990s facing Jordan was like meeting your nightmares only face to face. That’s the level of dominance he possessed over his opponents.

And, the story is no different for LeBron James. Drafted as a first pick, James has time and again proven why he should have a place in the NBA Hall of Fame. At the age of 37, he is still competing hard with the young buds of the league and showing them how it’s done. From defense, shooting to blocking, LeBron James has registered himself as one of the best overall players the league had ever seen. But the continuous comparison has often given birth to some unnecessary feuds in the NBA but LeBron being LeBron wished to just be at what he does.

In the recent episode of First Take, Kendrick Perkins also talks about how LeBron James just wants to put up numbers on the board.

Perkins said, “LeBron James is still chasing to be on the top, right? And, he wants to stack up his resume. It is already long but he wants it to continue to grow. So, he can shut up those fans out there, right?

Facts are stated. Perkins also added how he feels that Lakers “Big 3” might have more to prove this year than Brooklyn Nets ‘Big 3’. Lakers is a star-studded team with lots of Future Hall of Famers and potential Hall of Famers so proving their status why they are called that is crucial for the fans who doubt them.

It has been decades since Michael Jordan retired, where his records have set the standards high still comparing the present generation to an older one on a continuous basis is not logical. The times have changed so did the game.
