The Los Angeles Lakers seemed to have gathered all weapons before the start of the 2021-22 season to make a strong and bold run for the championship. However, with the current season starting up, LeBron James seems to be the only constant force that brings in positive light in Hollywood. With the purple and gold army slipping way beyond .500 win ratio, there have been rumors of the King departing and Knicks’ icon Charles Oakley has added to it.

Oakley was quick enough to express his opinion upon LeBron James partying way with the Los Angeles Lakers after they have failed fire on all cylinders in the 2021-22 season. With underdogs like Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat all making an impact, the Lakers have been one of the disasters even after challenging almost their entire roster.

The 58-years-old former NBA player believes that LeBron James is keen to get his hands on another silverware. And with the King being in Hollywood, that dream might not come to reality. As a result of which LeBron James might leave Lakers before hanging up his boots.

You know LeBron, his legacy right now is he definitely wants to win a championship before he retires,” Oaklay claimed on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “He might leave LA to get it. I don’t know if it will be Cleveland, could be somewhere else. He left twice. He’ll leave again.”

Although, Charles Oakley did hint that the Lakers have it within themselves to win the championship if the entire squad does turn up big to support their marquee LeBron James.

That being said, Oakley so conveniently points out, LeBron has done it in the past so in the mind of the former All-Defense big man, there’s nothing stopping James from walking away from the Lakers, especially if they do not achieve ultimate success this season. James already won a title for LA, and the fact that he turned his back from his beloved Cleveland Cavaliers twice in the past.
