Magic Johnson and LeBron James
Magic Johnson congratulated LeBron James on beating a phenomenal record of becoming the leader of the All-Time Scorers list which was a position previously held by Johnson’s friend and teammate, Lakers’ legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Johnson who was just a little late in congratulating LeBron for this unbelievable accomplishment highlighted the importance of the record where LeBron leads the all-time scorers list in the NBA Regular Season and Postseason combined.

Johnson who himself is a Lakers legend seemed highly impressed with LeBron who has already broken many records and another one to his list by becoming the all-time score leader, despite of the terrible season the Lakers are having which has put them in all sorts of trouble and has further narrowed down their chances of qualifying for the playoffs after their defeat to the Golden State Warriors, which is the match in which LeBron broke this record, making history.
Let us take a closer look at Magic Johnson’s tweet and dive a little deep into the record which LeBron broke.

Magic Johnson took to twitter a little late in order to congratulate LeBron James on breaking a record which was previously held by Johnson’s friend and Lakers’ teammate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who himself is a Lakers legend.
Despite the state the team has been in, where they are struggling to find any kind of form in order to win and move forward, LeBron James has managed to break another record, reminding us of how hard he has been pushing since day one, not losing his consistency, and having the same impact that he has always had.

LeBron James has been recording career high point and rebound stats with 29.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per-game, which is honestly unbelievable to say the least for anyone in the league, specially keeping in mind for how long the 37-year-old has been playing.
Johnson stated that the record was previously held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, in comparison to whom, LeBron broke the record in lesser games and minutes played, while there is also an argument which states that Kareem had to play 4 years of collegiate basketball which affected his chances on staying on top, for which you have to feel for him, but the conclusion is that you can take nothing away from LeBron James and he still remains the greatest player of this generation, and arguably even of all time if we ignore the Michael Jordan-LeBron James debate, which doesn’t seem to come to an end.
Let us now take a look at the Lakers this season and their continuous struggles of qualifying for the playoffs.
Los Angeles Lakers this season

The least that you can say is that Lakers have struggled this season, in all aspects of the game, from the performances of their players overall, to their shooting, to their game making abilities, which have all combined and resulted in them slacking this season.
The lakers currently stand at the 9th position in the Western Conference with a 26-31 record this season, which is sub-par according to their standards, keeping in mind the kind of names they have in their team, and the hopes people had from the team at the beginning of the season.
Not only does the team struggle with bad performances but also with internal tussle between the team, the players and even the tussle the players have with the coach, the main example of which being Russell Westbrook who seems to be struggling in convincing Frank Vogel in allowing him to close the games regularly, which Vogel is in no mood doing of right now.
Watch:
With such a tight spot that they are in the league, the chances of them qualifying for the Playoffs seem very slim and what they will require right now for them to move forward, is a miracle.
