Marcus Smart is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and is also considered the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics. He is not only known for defensive prowess but in the past two seasons, he has emerged as one of the reliable three-point shooters for the team. He can defend the best player on the opposing team, but there is one person in front of whom Smart is defenseless. It is his longtime girlfriend Maisa Hallum.
Although a lot is not known about Maisa, she was born in March 1994. The couple has been dating each other since 2018, but there were rumors of their breakup since they stopped appearing together in social gatherings. However, in a recent event what Smart did, was perhaps the best Christmas gift one could imagine.
You can often find Maisa sitting courtside supporting her fiance and future husband during Celtics games. As gorgeous as she might be, Hallum is not just eye candy. She is a well-known creative director and a successful businesswoman. Hallum is also the founder of Sousa Swim, a swimwear line of clothing. Maisa started her company with her sister, Naseme just after graduating from college.
In a recent interview with Blueprint Concepts, she remarked that she and her sister growing up in California “were in swimsuits more than in street clothing.” Perhaps that is where she got the idea about starting her own brand.

When are Marcus Smart and Maisa Hallum planning to get married?
After years of dating, Marcus Smart decided to take things to the next level with Maisa Hallum. The two are not married at the moment, but that appears to be changing in the near future. After a good win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, Smart made one of the biggest decisions of his life. He proposed to Maisa at his home in a perfect set-up scenario.
The Celtics star posted a cryptic message on Twitter, as he wrote, “It’s time for me to leave …” The message apparently sent the Celtics fan guessing as many guessed what Smart was talking about. Several might have also guessed about the possible trade. But Smart really played smart with fans and Tweeted another post completing the statement. He wrote, “Oh I forgot the rest… Time for me to leave the single life. She said YES!!! (Whew).” The post had a picture of the couple in the Christmas dress but something else stood out in it. Maisa was showing off her engagement ring.
In a separate Instagram post, Smart also posted a video of Will Smit sending a video message to his fiancee. In the video, Smith said, “Now, I know that you may not have gotten the stuff that you wanted, I promise you, you’re not going to end this Christmas empty-handed.” Just as the video ended, she turned around and Marcus was on his knees with a ring in his hand. It was pre-planned, the not ending Christmas empty-handed meant, a ring on her finger, perhaps the best she could have expected.
The date and time of the marriage have not been decided yet. However, it is pretty clear that the Boston Celtics star is smitten and totally in love with Maisa. Both the love birds can’t wait to tie the knot, and plan their future life together.
