“My nose is bleeding, tooth is loose…” NBA mascot breaks silence on Charles Barkley knocking him out unconscious
Former Nuggets mascot, Rocky The Mountain Goat revealed a rare incident which saw Charles Barkley knock out the Mascot with a deadly punch.
Charles Barkley hits Nuggets Mascot
Charles Barkley was the unrivaled bad boy of the 80’s and 90’s. While heard stories of Dennis Rodman and other stars in the league getting into trouble, Chuck was a menace on and off the court. In a tale that goes back 3 decades, former Denver Nuggets mascot Rocky revealed the details of an incident which saw Barkley ‘knock him out.’
Charles Barkley was a basketball fanatic (or lunatic), standing at 6’6 and 250 lbs, enough to scare anyone. His off-court persona was off the charts, landing him into trouble several times. Barkley even threw a man out of a window and spit on a fan during a game. To cap off these incidents, Kenn Solomon, the man behind Rocky The Mountain Lion recounted another wild Barkley story.

Kenn Solomon joined podcast host and writer Pablo Torre on the Pablo Torre Finds Out show. Rocky, the Nuggets Mascot, was known for taunting rival opponents and riling up the crowd against opposing teams with his wild stunts. He revealed a story about Charles Barkley, back when Chuck was with the Phoenix Suns.
Solomon had heard of Charles Barkley’s off-court issues and decided to test things out himself. He tried to taunt Barkley before getting pulled in for a sucker punch by the Chuckster. While everyone played the incident off as a joke, Solomon would go back to the locker room to find out the extent of his injuries.
However, the story doesn’t end there. Solomon was intrigued to see if Barkley had seriously punched him or tried to play into the joke. Solomon donned his costume and went back out to confront Barkley once again. This time, the Chuckster headbutted Rocky in the crotch region.
But Solomon realised that Barkley was just playing along, as he saw Chuck holding back on actually hitting the Mascot. Hence began the famous rivalry of Charles Barkley and Rocky the Mountain Lion.
Recalling some of Charles Barkley’s wildest moments
Charles Barkley’s off-court antics are as famous as his on-court antics. One of the most notorious incidents came in 1991. During a game, Barkley spat toward a heckling fan who had used racial slurs. Unfortunately, he missed and hit a young girl nearby. Although he quickly apologized to her and made amends by inviting her family to sit courtside, he cemented his “bad boy” image.
That image was only reinforced in 1997 when Barkley threw a man through a bar window after a confrontation in Orlando. When police asked about his actions, Barkley did not back down. He famously remarked that his only regret was that ‘they weren’t on a higher floor.’ But it doesn’t stop there.
In 2008, Barkley faced another scandal after being arrested for DUI in Arizona. His explanation—that he was in a rush to see a friend (with benefits). Controversy and Barkley have become almost synonymous owing to the NBA legend’s actions. Barkley’s controversies off the court have become almost as memorable as his on-court records. Never change, Chuck!
