Shaquille O’Neal speaks about Joel Embiid and James Harden’s combo
James Harden has joined Joel Embiid in the Philadelphia 76ers in the latest winter trade which saw the Sixers bring in James Harden and the Nets receiving Ben Simmons and Seth Curry. Things have taken to make sense for the Sixers after their new duo has started wreaking havoc on the teams. So much so that the duo is being referred to as the next Shaq and Kobe of the league. On “The Big Podcast with Shaq”, Shaq has loved what James and Joel are bringing to the Sixers with Harden bringing a lot more with him being the new addition to the roster, he has improved the game of people around him. it is just their honeymoon period and things will be better in place to make comparisons when the playoffs begin.
When Shaquille O’Neal was asked about them being the next Shaq-Kobe duo, Shaq outrightly denied them being what the people consider to be the next version of Shaq-Kobe. “No. No. Hell, no. Not after one year. Me and Kobe had eight years of damage together. No, not even close. Stop it. Listen, NO, H-NO, and F-NO.” Shaq was not having any of the comparisons as they have just started their new relationship, no doubt they are causing problems on their opposing teams, but time will be the ultimate decider.

James Harden adapting well with the Sixers
It has just been two weeks since the arrival of the Beard in Philadelphia to make his debut for them, so far as it is looking the wait has been worth it. He hasn’t been disappointing since he stepped foot back on the court. The Sixers fans have been treated to some spectacular games since his arrival. Harden has been a menace on the offensive side of the court for the Sixers, averaging 27.3 points, 12.3 assists, and 9.0 rebounds, and shooting 50% from beyond the arc. Joel Embiid has also spoken about their comparison with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. “I’m Joel Embiid. I don’t play the way Shaq did, you know, dominant in other ways. I’m not physically dominant like he was, You know, he was a freakin monster when he played… obviously Hall of Famer and one of the best ever. But I’m Joel Embiid… I dominate in other ways on the basketball floor as far as doing everything. James does the same thing as far as being a scorer and a playmaker.”
Harden is playing a much more crucial role with Joel Embiid who is getting all the support he can to make his prime count, things have just turned out to be great for the Sixers. Since his arrival, James Harden has taught Joel Embiid his trademark step back. The chances for the Sixers in the playoffs is that it is going to be a long run for them, which could probably see them putting up a tough time for the other teams.
