It seemed like John Collins less Hawks were on the verge to suffer a crunching defeat via the hands of Cleveland Cavaliers until Trae Young took the matters in his own hands in the second half. Having to trail by double digits in the first half, the 23-year-old turned up the Heat in securing his team’s victory 107-101 with an insane comeback. To which even Memphis Grizzlies star JA Morant could not hold back his emotions. 

Trae Young and JA Morant are two of the biggest modern-day NBA stars who have paved their way into the league with their own respective styles. Although the latter scorer is aware of how tough it could be to lead your team in such high-pressure game, Young has been doing it for consecutive seasons on the big stage.

JA Morant reacts to Trae Young’s fire performance 

Perhaps we’ll see another great playoff run from the Hawks after all? Even though they didn’t have a full line-up, Atlanta got the job done and most of the thanks can go to Trae Young. John Collins was out with an injury and Clint Capela fell to a hyperextended knee in the game. The second-leading scorer was Bogdan Bogdanovic with 19. As for Young, he went berserk for 38 points and 9 assists.

Safe to say, JA Morant would be inspired to see Young leading his team so well. The Grizzlies are up against the mighty Timberwolves in the first round. Given that they are the favorites, Morant would be looking to embrace his form of the regular season, in order to create history. On the other hand, the Hawks might have got Young in the best form possible but Capela’s injury could potentially rule him out of weeks or even till the end of the season. Remains to be seen.
