Coach Erik Spoelstra and Udonis Haslem went after the team’s marquee player Jimmy Butler after a series of arguments during the timeout, which saw the trio initially arguing and then ending up in a massive brawl which was forcefully stopped by other players in the squad. A heated argument was stopped from turning violent by other members in the squad who could do nothing but watch one of their teammates warning the other that he could beat the other’s a** in an effort to assert dominance.

Butler who has been accused of making the games his solo show almost suffered the wrath of coach Spoelstra and teammate Haslem who were definitely not going to stop till they got their hands at Jimmy.

The Miami Heat bench will look to solve their issues internally instead of them spilling out at the bench in between game like it happened this time in their match against Warriors. The job for the Warriors was done at the very moment when their rivals fought against each other, succumbing to the pressure put up by a team which didn’t have any of its star power in the game, and almost all of their regular players were missing.

Let us take a closer look at this scuffle between the players and the coach of Miami Heat, which was an unfortunate moment for the team and the entire league as none of it represents what the players or the league stands for.

The Miami Heat need to solve the internal fight going on between the squad and their coach before facing any other team in the league as it becomes easy for other teams to exploit these loopholes which are seen on court. Such was the incident in the Warriors vs Heat game as Heat’s coach Spoelstra and player Haslem went after their marquee player and “solo show” Jimmy Butler during a timeout. The ugly spat between all of these people was seen by the entire world and definitely wasn’t a good sign for the team or the management.

During a timeout called, Butler got into a heated argument with fellow teammate Haslem, who challenged him saying that he could beat Butler’s a**, and that definitely wasn’t taken well by the player who is quite confident in his abilities. The argument got bigger and bigger, and almost turned violent with coach Erik Spoelstra also being involved as he went right after Jimmy, who was being held by a few of his teammates. It was easy to figure out why such things were happening with the kind of game the Heat were having against the Warriors.

The violent argument at the Miami Heat’s bench

Coach Spoelstra said, “It was pretty clear. We have a competitive, gnarly group and we were getting our asses kicked for two straight games. We’re not playing to the level that we wanted to play. Virtually every single person in that huddle was pretty animated about our disappointment in how we were playing” and followed it up with a positive outlook, saying, “You can use moments during a season to catapult you. You can galvanize together over frustration and disappointment. Teams can also go the other way. I don’t see that with our group.” Highlighting that such issues wouldn’t be a stopping force in their quest of moving ahead.
