In this day and age social media plays an enormous role in the lives of humans. Now people have also started to make a living off social media under the name of being an influencer. With digital media on the rise athletes especially have grown to be smarter with their income by investing in brands with high potential. We have seen Shaquille O’Neal invest heavily in brands like Google and heard stories of him work with Walmart to create a shoe for the middle class market.

Michael Jordan has now entered the world of digital media as he and his son Jeffrey Jordan have launched an app that helps connect athletes to their fans. It goes by the name of HEIR INC which allows athletes to share details about themselves via Q&A sessions, Polls and generalized routine posts.

Jeffrey is the eldest child of the NBA legend Michael Jordan who was also a basketball player during his time in college. He graduated from Loyola Academy in 2007 and he would later receive a full athletic scholarship at the University of Illinois. The young man would eventually leave the team to focus on his education.

He would once again return to the college team and finally transfer to the University of Central Florida with his brother Marcus Jordan.

This will be the father-son duo’s first venture together as they plan on targeting Gen Z and millennial fans by getting them in touch with players of their time and also since they mostly live digitally. The content will be focused around athletes’ lives, exclusive videos while also allowing the athlete to interact with their fans (huddle) through quizzes and what not.

The slots (seats) available to become a fan will be limited to a fraction of the athlete’s followers on other social media platforms making these seats far more higher in value which will increase over time. Athletes will take away a large cut of 80% from the revenue generated leaving only 20% for the company.

Will Michael Jordan have a huddle?

According the Jeffrey, “My dad is a strategic adviser and partner. We meet with him regularly and he provides guidance and insightful ideas… When he was playing, he didn’t have the same tools to connect with his fanbase or monetize that.”

There might be a slight possibility of the Hall of Famer himself to be present among many other athletes. Besides that, Heir focuses on bringing in tier one players from the NBA and WNBA as well NCAA players who are potential future draft picks.
